Written Wednesday, July 15, 2009 (Ella's Birth Day):
Ella (middle name TBD) Lewis arrived this morning at 5:52! She weighs 7lbs 11oz and is 21 inches long. She has ten long fingers and ten long toes, brown hair and long eyelashes. She is healthy and absolutely beautiful! We are so excited that she is finally here!
Ella made a quick and easy entry into the outside world. I started getting stronger contractions last night around 10, and we arrived at the hospital around 12:30 this morning. Chris did a great job helping me relax and reminding me to keep breathing all while managing not to pass out on the floor! At 2 this morning I had an epidural (which I highly recommend!) and then got to sleep for about an hour before it was time to call the doctor back in and have a baby! Everything went well and Ella, Chris and I are all doing great.
Other big things going on in the country today include the release of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in theaters, and the launch of NASA’s Endeavour Shuttle.
