About Me

This is my family. Chris and I got married in July of 2005, Ella arrived on the scene in July 2009 and the newest member of the family, Liliana, arrived in September 2011. We also have a cat, Millie, and a dog, Ruby. As you can tell from the picture, we are Hawkeye fans. Liliana was 3 days old in this picture.

I consider myself to be a stay-at-home mom as I have chosen to put my teaching career aside for a while so I can spend the majority of my time with Ella and Liliana. I love that I have the opportunity to do this, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I do still have a few very part-time, paid jobs as well. It helps me get in some adult interaction, while bringing in a little spending money, and gives Ella and Liliana a little time away from Mommy. I am still a substitute teacher, but I think I can count on two hands the number of days I've been a sub since Ella entered the picture. According to Ella, I also "work at stop sign," and "work at shopping." Translation, I am a school crossing guard and a sales associate at Gymboree. But mostly, I'm a stay-at-home mom.

I love to scrapbook, but with a two-year-old and a newborn I rarely find time to work on any layouts, I haven't even opened the door to step into my scrapbooking room in ages. With the second of two scrapbook stores in town about to close and adding another person to our family I will have less access to scrapbooking supplies and even less space to store it, so I'm starting to get into digital scrapbooking.  Chris is very patiently helping me learn and relearn how to use photoshop. Once I figure it out I should be able to get some layouts completed. In the meantime I hope to use this blog to record what we're up to, so I can come back when the details are fuzzy and use what I've written in my future digital layouts.

Please feel free to read as much or as little of this blog as you'd like, and enjoy the pictures, I love pictures, so there will be plenty. Please feel free to leave comments too, I love reading them, and if you haven't seen a new post in a while and want to know the latest, just let me know. Knowing somebody is reading helps me to stay somewhat on top of things, but again, I have a two-year-old and a newborn, so if the update isn't posted first thing Wednesday morning, hopefully it will be soon. The name of the blog, Amy's Weekly Wednesday Update, is more of a goal set for myself than a guarantee that it will be posted on time.

Thanks for stopping by!
